The McMinnville Fire Dept. along with the Red Cross will be canvasing the area off Bybee Branch Road for Smoke Alarm Installations Feb. 24th. For information call 607-8984.

HAWC (Helping Animals of Warren County) will have its 3rd annual Chili Cook-off on Saturday, Feb. 24th from 5pm-7pm at the Moose Lodge in McMinnville. All you can eat tickets are $6 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. Admission to enter your chili in the cook-off is $8. Fill out the registration form on HAWC's Facebook page.

TWRA will hold a Hunter Education Course on Friday, Feb. 23rd from 5:30pm-9pm and Saturday, Feb. 24th, from 8am-2pm at the United Steelworkers Union Hall at 180 Arch Cope Road in Morrison. For information, call 615-339-4704. The course is free and anyone 10 and older may attend.

The 2018 Warren County Bologna Day on Capitol Hill will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 27th. Anyone wanting to ride the bus to Nashville and back may call the McMinnville-Warren County Chamber of Commerce at 473-6611.

Morrison Public Library will host a Storytelling Fest on Saturday, March 3rd at 10am. Ria Baker, author of A Southern Waters Tribute to Caney Fork and Center Hill Lake will be speaking. Books will be available for purchase. The event is free to the public.

The Warren County Rescue Squad will have their Country Ham Breakfast Fundraiser on Saturday, March 3rd from 6am-9am at the Squad Building on Sparta Street. For deliveries, call 473-7023.

Former Tennessee Vol football player, author and motivational speaker Inky Johnson will be the guest speaker at Boyd Christian School's annual Spring Banquet on Thursday, March 8th at the Boyd School Gymnasium. Cost is $100 a seat, $1000 for a table of 10.

The Warren County Retired Teachers Association will have a meeting Thursday, March 8th at 10am at the early voting room at the Administrative Building. The program will be Sandy Smith, Professor at Cumberland University, discussing Teacher licenses for retirees. All retired teachers are invited.

VFW Post 5064, Helping Hands Ministry, Kids of the Community and McMinnville Special Games will have a Blind Auction on March 17th from 4pm-6pm at the VFW on Sparta Highway. Live music will follow. The purpose of the event is to raise funds to be used by the participating organizations for the betterment of the community.
