In a press release Saturday by 31st District Attorney General Chris Stanford authorities arrested 37 year old Jacob Omar Simpson late Friday night for unlawfully shooting his son, 20 year old Jathan Allen Cagle outside a residence on Lance Street.
On Friday, January 20 at approximately 11:20 p.m., the McMinnville City Police Department and the 31st Judicial District – District Attorney General’s Office began an investigation into an incident that occurred at a residence on Lance Street in McMinnville. As a result of the joint investigation, Simpson was charged with criminal homicide after unlawfully shooting Cagle outside of the Lance Street residence. Simpson’s bail is set at $1,000,000.00 and he remains in the custody of the Warren County Sheriff’s Department.
